A criação de um jardim central que se desenvolve em dois níveis, contido pelos edifícios que albergam o programa, gera um universo bastante intimo e doméstico.
Este terraço/jardim voltado ao mar funciona como catalisador de toda a atmosfera interior do centro de acolhimento

The creation of a central garden that develops on two levels, contained by the building, generates a very intimate and homely universe.
This garden terrace facing the sea work as a catalysts for the entire atmosphere of the center interior

dois pavilhões de água 2018 Cascais

Pretende-se evidênciar os elementos de água já existentes no Jardim.
Desenhando um limite construído que contorna esses elementos, criando espaços de culto à água, expressando um dentro (sagrado) e um fora (mundano).
Uma exaltação dos elementos de água, que apelam ao deambular do corpo no espaço numa experiência sensorial entre um pátio de água que apenas pode ser contemplado e o bebedouro numa atmosfera quase sagrada que evoca a experiência directa do corpo com a água.

two water pavilions

The idea praises the water elements present in the Garden.
Drawing a constructed boundary that circumvents these elements, building spaces of worship towards water, expressing an inside (sacred) and an outside (mundane).
Exalting these water elements, on which appeals to wandering the body in the space on sensory experience between a water room/patio that can only be contemplated and the drinking fountain on a almost sacred atmosphere evoking the body on a direct experience with water.

A casa sofreu alterações ao longo dos tempos, modificando o seu uso, tornando-se dificil de habitar.
Dos dois pisos existentes apenas o primeiro é habitado.
Para um maior aproveitamento do espaço total da casa é feita uma troca.
No primeiro piso com acesso ao exterior libertamos espaço para os espaços comuns.
No piso superior são os quartos que privilegiam da privacidade e de uma vista estonteante.

The house has been suffering changes over time, modifying its use, making it uninhabitable.
The two existing floors of the house only the first is inhabited.
For a greater use of the house, an exchange is made.
On the first floor with access to the outside terrace opens up an open space for common spaces.
Upstairs are the bedrooms that have privacy and a breathtaking view.

A primeira arquitectura é a geografia. O que se pretende é entender as características do lugar e conseguir formar um novo tempo construindo paisagem.
A cozinha, a casa mãe, os quartos, a piscina/tanque e os quartos humanizam a paisagem em harmonia com os elementos tradicionais numa tentativa de dominar o território cultivado.
A matéria que constitui este lugar deverá ser entendida e assumida na sua verdadeira grandeza e com as suas imperfeições como se o projecto pertence-se ali desde sempre.

The first architecture is geography.
We want to understand the characteristics of the place and be able to form a new layer, a new time building landscape.
The kitchen, the mother house, the rooms and the tank/pool try to humanize the landscape in harmony with traditional elements in an attempt to dominate the territory for cultivation.
The matter that constitutes this place must be understood and assumed in its true grandeur and with its imperfections as if the project exists from the beginning.

Desenha-se um limite que define um espaço e um elemento central.
Esse limite quadrangular na sua base emerge de forma piramidal, numa cobertura de estrutura leve em madeira, que protege da exposição solar forte e da intempérie.
É lona branca que cobre a estrutura e possibilita a luz natural filtrada.
Debaixo da cobertura significa que estamos abrigados e seguros.
A casa entende-se como um abrigo, albergando os seus espaços por debaixo desta grande cobertura.
É ai que a casa acontece.
E ai que estamos protegidos.

A limit is drawn and defines a central space.
The quadrangular boundary is the base that emerges a pyramidal in a lightweight wood structure, which protects from strong sun exposure and bad weather.
Its like a white canvas covering the structure and filter the natural light.
The house is understood as a shelter, sheltering their spaces beneath this large roof.
That's where the house happens.
And it´s there we are proctect

Uma casa percurso articula todo o programa sobre a pequena baía de desembarque.
Apoderando-se da topografia, a casa cria uma forte atmosfera que tira partido da relação intensa entre a sua construção e os elementos naturais, o basalto, o mar e o céu. Parece que sempre existiu ali, actua como um “organismo endémico”.︎

A house route articulates the whole program on the small landing bay.
The house creates a strong atmosphere that takes advantage of the intense relationship between its construction and the natural elements, the basalt, sea and sky.
It looks like it have always been there, it´s like an "endemic organism". ︎

A operação numa ruína, antiga Casa e Mercearia consistiu na adição de uma varanda em madeira cor verde que se extende sobre a vista e unifica os dois espaços.
Pretende-se desenvolver o seu carácter tradicional introduzido num programa diferente e contemporâneo.
Repor a verdade do edifício é devolve-lo à cidade.

The operation on this old House and Grocery store consisted in the addition of a green balcony that extends over the view and unifies this two spaces.
It is intended to develop its traditional character introduced into a different and contemporary program.
Restoring the truth of the building and returning it to the city.

Casa no centro histórico de Évora, localizada no rés-do-chão, comunica com o a luz natural apenas por uma janela e uma porta.
Abrimos um pátio.
Agora, todos os espaços interiores são beijados pela luz natural.

The house in Évora city center , located on the ground floor, communicates with the outside and with natural light only by a small window and a door.
We opened a patio.
Now all interior spaces are kissed by natural light.

O refúgio do mundo.
O abrigo é a ponte que une o céu e a terra.
Onde o silêncio é bem-vindo.
O abrigo camuflado na natureza quer ser um objecto que por ser diferente pertence ao sítio como se nunca dele tivesse saído.
Ao entrar é uma realidade nova. O branco é o vão emuldorado nesta paisagem dominante.
O abrigo é o lugar autêntico, é o refugio que protege da extrema enclemência do tempo e dos agentes naturais, mas também do mundano e do superficial.
É a colina, o cabeço, o lugar alto onde passam os ventos e os nomes de um tempo seco e quente.
O silêncio é o som perdominante.
Habita a àgua algures e o sacudir das folhas secas e coloridas numa harmonia ensaiada.
Sim, já estamos abrigados.

The refuge of the world.
The shelter is the bridge that connects heaven and earth.
Where silence is welcome.
The shelter camouflaged in nature wants to be an object that because it is different belongs to the place as if it had never been left.
Entering is a new reality. White is the emuldorated emptiness in this dominant landscape.
The shelter is the authentic place, it is the shelter that protects from the extreme enclose of time and natural agents, but also from the mundane and superficial.
It is the hill, the hill, the high place where the winds pass and the names of a dry and hot weather. Silence is the perdominant sound.
It inhabits the water somewhere and the shaking of the dry and colored leaves in a rehearsed harmony.
Yes, we're already home.

Desenhar uma fachada é uma oportunidade de oferecer algo a este conjunto de pátios que constituem o Farm Cultural Park.
O que propomos é uma fachada viva.
Uma estrutura rígida em madeira pintada e rede, como uma gaiola que alberga os pássaros e vegetação.
Uma espécie de oásis suspenso de uma fachada viva.

Designing a facade is an opportunity to offer something to this set of patios that consists of
the Farm Cultural Park.
What we propose is a living facade.
A rigid white wooden structure and mesh like a cage with birds and vegetation.
A kind of oasis suspended from a living facade.

Um simples gesto de alteração entre a cozinha, sala de estar e a relocação da casa de banho, possibilitou uma sala de estar e cozinha agora nos sítios certos com mais iluminação natural e com ligação directa ao exterior.
O percurso á casa pelos espaços comuns faz-se em círculo mantendo os dois quartos no meio.

A simple gesture of change between the kitchen, living room and relocation of the bathroom, made possible a living room and kitchen now in the right places with more natural light and with direct connection to the exterior.
The circulation of the house is made by the common spaces is made in circle keeping the two rooms in the middle.

Situada num loteamento com características bastante rurais, a casa organiza-se em apenas um piso dentro de um limite murado.
Numa composição sequencial, os quartos num primeiro plano, o núcleo de casas de banho que separam a sala de estar e os quartos, e por fim o pátio onde acontece o tanque de água.

Located in a plot with very rural characteristics, the house is organized in only one floor within a walled boundary.
In a sequential composition, the rooms in the foreground, the bathrooms that separate the living room and the rooms and finally the patio where the water tank takes place.

Um espaço comercial no centro histórico de Évora, espacialmente interessante no pé direito e de tecto em abóbada.
Uma montra e uma entrada.
O projecto desenha-se num simples balcão de 15m que liga todas as salas.
Todo o espaço é coberto em azulejo como se de um laboratório se tratasse.

A commercial space in the Évora city center, spatially interesting on the drawing of the ceiling domes and the height space.
A showwindow and an entrance.
The project is designed in a simple gesture of designing a 15m counter that connects all rooms.
The seating areas are covered in white tile like a lab.

“Mal Me Queres” de João Santos Lopes;
Onde o desamor, a frieza de sentimentos, a fuga para comportamentos sociais perigosos, no seio de uma família disfuncional são a pedra de toque desta teia de relações que, sem apego, revoltada, falsamente apaixonada e traída encontrará, no final um caminho menos penoso.
O presente, vermelho representa “um alpendre nas traseiras de uma vivenda”.
O passado próximo, é azul representa “um beco na cidade”, onde se desenrola um único ato da peça.
Há ainda um elemento fundamental na trama - um canteiro de malmequeres...

The present is red, represents "a porch at the back of a house".
The near past, is blue, represents "an alley in the city", where happen a single act of the piece.
There is still one element fundamental in the plot - a bed of marigolds...
